Wenling, located in East China's Zhejiang province, is the perfect destination for those seeking a rejuvenating outing before winter sets in. This hidden gem, administered by Taizhou, offers breathtaking sea and mountain views that will leave visitors in awe.

One must-visit is the Taihu Reservoir, surrounded by an enchanting forest of redwood trees. The autumnal ambiance creates a stunning atmosphere, reminiscent of the beautiful Kashgar in northern Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.

Another highlight is Fangshan Mountain, the largest Mesozoic rhyolite volcanic platform in Asia. The mountain is enclosed by steep cliffs, but its peak is open and spacious, dotted with numerous lakes and ponds, resembling a huge mountaintop garden.

During autumn, the mountains become more humid, and visitors who are lucky may witness the breathtaking scene of rolling clouds during a morning hike. The mist adds an elegant and mysterious touch, while a hidden stone-paved path keeps you in suspense as you make your way to the next stunning panorama.

While many are familiar with the stunning seaside views of Shitang town in Wenling, few are aware of the hidden treasures on the other side of the sea. The Shitang Peninsula Coastal Greenway, an 8-kilometer stretch along the mountainside, offers enchanting coastal scenery that is sure to captivate.

Within Shitang, Xiaoruo village has earned the title of one of the "most beautiful fishing villages in China" and is often referred to as the "Eastern Cape of Good Hope". This picturesque village feels like a fairy tale coming to life. The houses here are predominantly built with sturdy stones and adorned with vibrant hues, built to withstand the sea's dampness and typhoons.

The unique coastal scene in Wenling, with seafood hung up to dry in the sun, is a sight to behold. Residents of Songmen town in Wenling have mastered the art of sun-drying seafood. Preserving seafood is no easy feat, but the locals have harnessed their skills to the fullest. After cleaning the seafood, it is exposed to the sun, gradually losing moisture and taking on a delightful crispness while retaining the authentic flavors of the sea.
