Following the lifting of the fishing ban in the East China Sea, Taizhou's aquatic product exports have witnessed a substantial surge.

The Taizhou Customs has released data showing that within just nine days from Aug 6, 799.21 metric tons of aquatic products were exported from the city, representing an uptick of 245.7 percent compared to the same period last year. The total export value has also soared, reaching 25.65 million yuan ($3.51 million), showing a noteworthy increase of 189.3 percent.

After a three-month-long hiatus, during which fishing activities were suspended in the East China Sea, Taizhou's fishermen have returned to the waters and made an abundance of catches. Capitalizing on the ongoing peak sales season, numerous aquatic companies, including Zhejiang Tianhe Aquatic Products Co Ltd, are enjoying substantial benefits, witnessing a deluge of orders from international markets.

Notably, on Aug 17, the company successfully shipped nine tons of sunfish fillets to Australia, passing the stringent inspection conducted by Taizhou Customs.

Chen Hui, general manager of Tianhe Aquatic, expressed his pride, saying, "Since the fishing season commenced, we have exported various high-quality aquatic products, such as anglerfish fillets, frozen mackerel, sunfish fillets, crayfish, and frozen shrimp tails. In total, we have shipped six TEUs of these products to destinations including Australia, Spain, and France. Our current strategy focuses on the production and export of processed seafood products, such as boneless and skinless fish fillets, which not only provide convenience for cooking but also cater to the demands of our discerning overseas customers."

Yu Xunxin, CEO of Tianhe Aquatic, expressed appreciation for the outstanding support provided by Taizhou Customs. Their prompt assistance, seamless customs clearance, and efficient procurement of necessary certifications have ensured a streamlined export experience, taking only one hour to complete. This commendable support has contributed significantly to the overall success of the company.
