Fifteen bookstores have recently opened their doors along the S1 railway line in Taizhou, Zhejiang province.

These innovative bookstores, known as "Hehe E-Book Bars", are equipped to provide round-the-clock services to railway travelers and local residents.

The bookstores offer a diverse range of reading materials, including physical books and e-books, and also provide tourism guidance for travelers. To access the book collection, residents are required to obtain library cards from the Taizhou Library. For visitors without a library card, on-site online card applications are also available, including options to apply through Alipay or WeChat.

The S1 railway line, which officially began operating on Dec 28, 2022, connects Taizhou's Jiaojiang district and Luqiqao district with the county-level city of Wenling. This 52.4-kilometer railway line consists of 15 stations and has a maximum speed of 140 km/h, enabling passengers to travel from Taizhou Railway Station to Wenling South Railway Station in just half an hour.

By providing convenient access to literature and knowledge, these bookstores aim to encourage a lifelong love of reading among passengers, creating a truly enriching travel experience.
