Five county-level areas in Taizhou have recently been listed among the top 100 counties in China in terms of comprehensive tourism strength for 2023.

Leading the way from Taizhou is the county-level city of Linhai, securing the 12th spot on the list. Following closely behind are the county-level city of Wenling in 17th place, Tiantai county in 22nd place, Xianju county in 46th place, and the county-level city of Yuhuan in 79th place, as stated in a recent report.

The report also indicates that the top 100 counties with the highest comprehensive tourism strength are distributed across 18 provinces. Zhejiang claims the top spot nationwide, with seven county-level areas listed. Anji county in Huzhou has ranked first on the list for five consecutive years.

In 2022, these top 100 counties achieved an average of 12.84 billion yuan ($1.79 billion) in tourism revenue and received an average of about 13 million tourists. This represents a year-on-year decrease of 11.63 percent and 2.7 percent, respectively.
