A two-day "Welcome Asia Games" taekwondo exchange event for youth from both sides of the Strait was held at Ruoheng Middle School in Wenling, a county-level city in Taizhou, from July 24 to 25.

Over 40 taekwondo athletes from Taiwan province joined local athletes from Wenling in a taekwondo exchange.

"I was quite nervous before coming, but after interacting with these warm and hospitable Wenling Taekwondo athletes, I felt at ease and made many new friends," said 16-year-old Jiang Yixuan from Taipei. She previously won the Best Technical Award in the Women's Competitive Category at the Cross-Strait Taekwondo Open held in Wenzhou.

Jiang expressed her curiosity and excitement about Wenling and was happy for the competitive experience. Here, she met Chen Minhui, who trains at the Taekwondo base of Ruoheng Middle School.

Chen Minhui stated that despite it being an exchange event, everyone demonstrated their skills, saying, "They are all elites in the field of Taekwondo, and whether it's in kicking or punching techniques, every move is swift and worth learning."

The taekwondo exchanges between Wenling and Taiwan began in 2016.
