A delightful Argentine food and cultural event was held in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on June 27.
The event showcased an array of scrumptious dishes, including succulent steaks and flavorful red wine. Attendees were also treated to captivating music and passionate tango performances, providing a taste of the rich culture originating from the vast Pampas grassland.
The occasion coincided with the opening of Xibarita, an experience store affiliated to the Argentine (Shanghai) Innovation Center, in the city.
The store, located on Yinan West Street, offers a diverse range of authentic Argentine products such as beef, seafood, chocolate, yerba mate, and wine, providing a unique and immersive cultural experience.
In recent years, Taizhou has fostered a thriving trade relationship with Argentina. In 2022, trade between Taizhou and the South American nation reached an impressive $260 million, reflecting a year-on-year uptick of 16.4 percent. Sectors such as mechanical and electrical products, pharmaceuticals, and plastics have played a pivotal role in fostering this prosperous partnership.
The establishment of the experience store was made possible by a cooperation agreement between Taizhou and the Argentine (Shanghai) Innovation Center during the 5th China International Import Expo held last November.
Rodrigo, an Argentine residing in Taizhou for more than a decade, envisions the experience store as a bridge for communication and cultural exchange between Taizhou and Argentina. With a heartfelt desire to introduce his hometown's exquisite flavors, Rodrigo plans to invite more Taizhou residents to savor the authentic tastes of Argentina.
