Fishing competition kicks off in Linhai

The 2023 China (Linhai) Leisure Fishing Competition kicked off in Taozhu town in Linhai city, Zhejiang province, on May 27, attracting more than 200 fishing veterans from 16 provinces and cities across the country.

Jointly sponsored by the Linhai government, Taizhou port and fisheries management bureau and China Recreational Angling Association, the competition focused on yellow croakers, a warm-temperate migratory fish known for its delicious flavor and high nutritional value.

Renowned as "China's Leisure Fishing Capital" and "Hometown of White Shrimps", Linhai is leading the transformation and advancement of the fishing industry in Zhejiang with abundant resources such as near-shore beaches, islands and reservoirs.

Linhai cooperates closely with industrial groups such as the China Recreational Angling Association to highlight the brand effect of its fishing capital status through high-quality conferences and competitions and promote the integration of first, second and third industries related to fishing. 

The competition boosted rural vitalization and showcased the charm and vitality of Linhai through various activities.
