The National Track and Field Grand Prix is scheduled to kick off in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on May 26.

Taizhou, the third leg of the national competition, is expected to welcome 28 teams composed of nearly 800 athletes from across the nation.

All preparations for the sports event, including tests for equipment and venues, have been completed, according to Wang Jinkui, a staff member at the organizing committee.

Some contestants such as Li Ling, record holder in the women's pole vault in Asia, have already arrived in Taizhou and checked the field to get ready for the forthcoming competition.

Li said, in an interview during her visit to the Taizhou Sports Center, the competition's venue, that she hasn't set any goals for the contest, as she treats the competition as a test for her previous training results and a preliminary race for the upcoming IAAF World Championships in Athletics and 19th Asian Games.
