The Xianju biodiversity fair was held at Xianju Biodiversity Museum on May 21, aiming to raise the public's awareness of the importance of biodiversity conservation by teaching them about biodiversity conservation in various ways.
At the site of the fair, students watched drone and intelligent robot performances, appreciated specimens of butterflies and phalaenae and participated in a nature study class and farmers' market.
"We want to teach the public about biodiversity through interesting activities and raise their awareness of biodiversity conservation," said Zhu Hanbo, deputy director of the Xianju National Park Administrative Committee.
As the area with the most abundant biodiversity indicators in Xianju, Xianju National Park has recorded 2,044 species, including 69 species of wildlife under state key protection. It is one of 29 key biodiversity conservation areas in Zhejiang province.
As the first ecological museum themed on regional biodiversity in Zhejiang, Xianju Biodiversity Museum has been working to promote science by holding publicity and education activities to teach the public about biodiversity. Since its opening on May 19, 2022, the museum has received 57,000 visitors and guided to more than 50 groups, including tour groups, school teams and study tour groups.
