Crowds of visitors recently descended upon Huading National Forest Park to admire the fully-bloomed azalea flowers.

The park, which is located in Tiantai county, Taizhou, is receiving an average of 10,000 visitors per day.

Many tourists are attracted to the park by Rhododendron huadingense, also known as the Huading azalea, according to a tourist guide surnamed Huang, who led a group of nearly 200 visitors to the park on May 11. A deciduous shrub species with a height of up to 4 meters, the Rhododendron huadingense begins flowering in the first half of April.

Impressed by the vast stretches of azalea blossoms, a visitor surnamed Li compared the bright-colored flowers to pink clouds.

In response to the influx of visitors, Huading National Forest Park has rolled out a number of measures, including arranging for buses to transport visitors to the entrance and improving the frequency of patrols, to provide better services.

Azalea trees are planted across Taizhou. In addition to Huading park, other places in the city that are noted for their bright-colored flowers include Guocang Mountain in Linhai city, Daopeng Mountain in Sanmen county and Fangshan Mountain in Wenling city.
