A tourism and cultural festival highlighting diverse ethnic customs in Zhejiang opened in Xianju, a county-level city in Taizhou, on May 11.
The festival, which is in its ninth year, witnessed the signing of multiple tourism projects designed to promote ethnic exchange and integration.
As the host venue, Xianju inked tourism and labor cooperation agreements with Luhu and Seda counties in Sichuan's Garze Tibetan autonomous prefecture at the opening ceremony.
In addition, a knowledge contest was held, with its winners, who answered all questions correctly, granted an opportunity to participate in a lucky draw containing free tickets to Shenxianju, a local national 5A scenic spot.
In recent years, Xianju has been actively promoting common prosperity among people of different ethnicities in the county by leveraging its strengths in culture and tourism.
Boosting employment in villages inhabited by ethnic minorities by establishing workshops in partnership with local companies is one of such effort. To date, nine such workshops have been built in Xianju, generating more than 30 million yuan ($4.32 million) in annual output value.
