A total of 730 companies from Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province will attend the 133rd China Import and Export Fair, which will be held from April 15 to May 5 in South China's Guangzhou city.

More than 2,000 booths – which account for 23.9 percent of Zhejiang's total – will be set up at the fair, which is aimed at securing more overseas orders.

The event, also known as Canton Fair, will welcome buyers from over 220 countries and regions as it resumes all offline exhibitions for the first time after a three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

The fair will span 1.5 million square meters, 25 percent larger than the previous edition, and cover segments not seen before, such as smart manufacturing, new-energy and intelligent connected vehicles, maternal and infant products, and the "silver-haired" economy, which is catered to elderly consumers.

Among the companies to debut at the newly establishment segments is Zhejiang Qianjiang Robot Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Taizhou- headquartered cookware manufacturer ASD Co Ltd, which will set up a 420-squre-meter booth to display its latest robotic accomplishments.

Wang Yonggui, deputy general manager of Qianjiang Robot, said that the company, which has since 2018 been expanding into overseas markets, hopes to tap more business opportunities by attending the Canton Fair.
