Nanjian village in the county-level city of Wenling, Taizhou, has achieved fruitful results in the pursuit of common prosperity by leveraging its straw hat industry.

Located in Xinhe town in the county-level city of Wenling, Nanjian is home to more than 400 companies engaged in businesses relate to straw hats. These companies have a combined output value of 1.5 billion yuan ($217.99 million) every year.

The flourishing industry has created many jobs for the surplus labor force from the village and its surrounding areas.

One such beneficiary is 63-year-old Zhao Yunhua, who now earns more than 200 yuan a day by processing raw materials delivered to her doorstep.

More than 800 locals like Zhao have also secured jobs that pay a monthly average wage of 2,000 yuan.
