Taizhou University inaugurated a research facility for its international students in Xianju county on March 31.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by 46 international students from the university, who went on to visit places including Shenxianju, a national 5A scenic spot, the Xianju Biodiversity Museum as well as the flagship store of Shenxiandanong, a public agricultural brand, in the county.

Following the trip, a participant from Uzbekistan said was most impressed by the county's "breathtaking scenery and fresh air".

Zheng Haimin, head of the publicity department of the CPC Xianju committee, noted that the event will help broaden horizons, deepen understanding of Chinese culture, and raise Xianju's awareness among the international community.

The landscapes which impressed the international student delegation are partly a result of a campaign launched by Xianju last year to improve its environment through micro renovations.

The county has been actively exploring a development pattern to integrate tourism development with common prosperity pursuits.
