An additional 57 residential communities from Taizhou have been included in the provincial "future community" program, according to a circular recently published by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.
Of the 57 communities, 10 will be rebuilt while the rest will be renovated.
The concept of a "future community", which was mentioned in a provincial government report released in 2019, refers to an urban development project that aims to make cities more people-oriented, environmentally friendly and digitalized.
The construction of Taizhou's first "future community" – the Chenghuangpu residential community in Jiaojiang district - was completed in August 2022.
