A half marathon was held in Baishuiyang town, Linhai, a county-level city in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province on March 26, local media reported.

More than 2,000 runners took part in the event, which comprised a half marathon and a 10-kilometer run.

Yang Jianqiang, a participant with disabilities, finished the half marathon on wheels with a time of 1 hour and 59 minutes.

The event, which is in its third edition this year, is the latest effort by Baishuiyang to integrate itself with the surrounding Ancient City of Taizhou Cultural Scenic Area and support the campaign launched by Linhai to become a mecca for outdoor sports in the Yangtze River Delta.

Participants got to admire a wide stretch of peach blossoms as well as folk custom performances staged along the track. They were also presented with a carton of Huangsha noodles, a famous hand-made noodles brand in the region.

Earlier this year, Baishuiyang town was shortlisted as a provincial sports and tourism town in Zhejiang.
