Taizhou Airport will implement its 2023 summer-autumn season flight schedule starting from March 26, according to local media reports.

The new season will see 11 airlines operate flights linking Taizhou with 25 other cities, with 444 planes taking off or arriving at the airport every week, up 14.4 percent year-on-year.

To meet the growing travel requirements, Taizhou Airport will open direct flights to five new cities - Korla, Yueyang, Foshan, Yinchuan and Xining. Korla will be the first city in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region connected to Taizhou via direct flight.

Meanwhile, the flight frequency to some domestic tourism destinations like Chongqing and Chengdu will be increased.

The number of daily flights from Taizhou to Chongqing will increase from the original 2.5 to 3, while the frequency for those bound for Chengdu will rise from 2 to 2.5, according to sources.

In addition, the airport will increase flights to Shenzhen and Guangzhou, two financial hubs in South China, while optimizing flight duration to other domestic air travel hubs.

The arrival time for the flight to Chengdu will be rescheduled from 00:10 am to 4:20 pm, while that for the Taizhou-Nanning flight will be changed from 00:35 am to 8:30 pm.
