A road circling Shenxianju, a national 5A scenic spot in Taizhou's Xianju county, was recently honored as a national innovative tourism transportation project, according to local media reports.

The 39.4-km road goes through three provincial beautiful towns - Shitian, Baita and Danzu - in Xianju, and links Shenxianju with other scenic spots like Jingxingyan and Shenxian Oxygen Bar Town, which are both 4A level attractions.

The road's construction has injected new vitality to local tourism sector, with a bevy of homestays and agritainment facilities sprouting up on its two sides.

As of 2022, 300-plus homestays, or about 50 percent of the total in Xianju, had been opened along the road, official data show.

Scenic spots along the road saw a daily average of 8,000 tourist vehicles and generated an average annual income of nearly 20,000 yuan ($2,915.45) for surrounding residents
