Taizhou unveils new policies to bolster employment

Taizhou in East China's Zhejiang province recently rolled out a raft of incentives to boost employment in the manufacturing sector, which is expecting a surge in orders on the heels of the nation's optimization of its COVID-19 control policies.

According to the policies unveiled by authorities, subsidies will be offered to cover the transport costs of new employees hired by local manufacturing companies from Jan 10 to Feb 10.

Specifically, non-locals from East China will each be given 300 yuan ($43.48) in subsidies, while those travelling from regions outside of East China will receive 800 yuan.

In addition, the government has promised to cover 50 percent of the costs - capped at 100,000 yuan - incurred from bringing non-local workers using chartered vehicles during the period.

Those who have signed a one-year labor contract and worked for a manufacturer for over three months are also entitled to a one-time subsidy of 2,000 yuan.

Manufacturing enterprises from the city will also be granted a maximum of 100,000 yuan for hiring 10 employees or more.

Those eligible are required for apply for the first two kinds of subsidies before May 31, while the deadline to apply for latter two is July 1.
