Retired soldiers who were born in Taizhou will be exempt from bus fares as well as admission fees to 82 State-owned scenic spots in the city starting from March 1, authorities recently announced.

The policy is applicable to those holding a preferential treatment certificate for veterans, according to the Taizhou Municipal Bureau of Veteran Affairs.

To enjoy this benefit, veterans have to apply for a QR code, which needs to be shown before boarding a bus or entering a scenic attraction, on Zheliban, an administrative service app backed by the Zhejiang provincialgovernment.

Those will do not have the digital code can still enjoy the same treatment after showing their privilege certificates.

Veterans will still have to pay for cable car rides, travel guides, parking, as well as other leisure and entertainment services they use during their visit to scenic spots, said a head official at the Taizhou Municipal Bureau of Veteran Affairs.
