Chunshu Fruit Professional Cooperative in Linhai, a county-level city in Taizhou, was recently honored as a national demonstration agricultural entity by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.

Located in Konghua'ao village, Yanjiang town, the cooperative, which has 103 members, can produce more than 3,000 metric tons of tangerines worth over 20 million yuan ($2.91 million) annually. This is made possible by the owner's efforts in improving fruit's quality, promoting digital upgrading in production and leveraging e-commerce to expanding sales channels.

Presently, the selecting, sorting, and packing of the fruit can be performed by machines at the cooperative, which has also gone to great lengths to seek business opportunities online while developing new products.

The cooperative is a national pioneer in staging a news conference for tangerines that attracted more than 300 dealers from across the country.

A workshop established by the Chunshu cooperative has also created jobs for surrounding residents. During the peak season, the cooperative employs nearly 200 workers every day, with its annual wage expenditure exceeding 1 million yuan.

In addition, the cooperative has offered assistance to poverty alleviation efforts in Wuding county in Southwest China's Yunnan province.
