Taizhou in East China's Zhejiang province took 14th place in the air quality rankings for 168 major cities in China in 2022, according to local media reports.

Four cities in Zhejiang made the top 20, with three other cities - Zhoushan, Lishui and Ningbo - ranking third, seventh, and 17th respectively.

In December alone, Taizhou came in second provincially in terms of air quality, only behind Zhoushan. Yuhuan, a county-level city of Taizhou, was listed among the top 10 counties in air quality that same month.

The average percentage of days in the year with good air quality for the 11 cities at prefecture-level in Zhejiang stood at 89.3 percent. The provincial average concentration of PM2.5 was 24 micrograms per cubic meter, remaining the same as the previous year.
