The provincial government recently approved the construction of the Yuhuan No 2 Offshore Wind Farm in the county-level city of Yuhuan in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province.

Situated in Pishan area in Yuhuan, the 6.67-billion-yuan ($952.86 million) facility will feature 36 wind turbines and have a total installed capacity of 504 megawatts.

The farm will also be equipped with a 220 KV offshore booster station and an onshore centralized control station.

Considered one of the major projects in Zhejiang during the 2021-2035 period, the farm is scheduled to become fully operational in 2025 and generate 1.69 billion kilowatt hours of electricity annually.

Compared to coal, the amount of electricity generated by the farm annually will result in a reduction of 1.44 million metric tons of emissions.
