Print PrintPuzheng village in Taizhou's Huangyan district is a shining example of how the city's green transformation has been a driving force behind its common prosperity campaign.
The village’s rivers used to be heavily polluted due to the wastewater discharged by a dozen rice and flour processing workshops. But the situation started to change in 2017, when authorities spent 6 million yuan ($857,142) to build an industrial park to accommodate the family workshops.
The 3,000-square-meter park adopts a management pattern that revolves around centralized production and has special measures regarding the treatment of production sewage.
In addition, its sustainable production approach has reduced production costs, thus resulting in each family workshop earning an extra 100,000 to 150,000 yuan annually, according to an official at the Taizhou Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment.
