An exclusive online job fair for doctoral degree holders, the first of its kind in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, was launched in the city on Dec 3.

The event, which was sponsored by the Talent Office of the CPC Taizhou Municipal Committee, and the Taizhou Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, attracted 305 applicants.

Thirty companies from Taizhou, including Zhejiang Huahai Pharmaceutical Co Ltd, Leo Group, and Zhejiang Headman Machinery Co Ltd, offered 50 job positions at the fair.

Those hired through event will earn an annual salary of 800,000 yuan ($114,285), and will receive a grant of up to 790,000 yuan meant to help them to settle down in the city, according to the organizers.

The online event is part of efforts by authorities to attract more high-caliber talents to the city, said Hong Zan, an official at the Taizhou Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security said.
