Seventy-eight water supply systems manufactured by Leo Group based in Taizhou in East China's Zhejiang province were recently shipped to Qatar, the host venue for the upcoming 2022 FIFA World Cup.

The facilities, which have been installed and debugged, will be used to ensure drinking water for about 1.2 million football fans during the World Cup.

Qatar has built 15 of the world's largest drinking water pools in the desert, some of which were built by Leo, in an effort to the increase storage and supply capacity of drinking water and clean water for soccer games.

In addition, the Taizhou-based company has also come up with a water supply solution to deliver fresh water, based on sea water desalination, to every room in the fan village in an energy-efficient and sustainable manner.

According to the company's spokesman, the chips installed in each water supply system enable operators to monitor water pumps in real time and be alerted of any equipment deficiencies.

Leo Group, a company that has been focusing on the R&D, production and sale of pumps since its establishment, ranks first among enterprises in the pump industry in China in terms of comprehensive strength, according to the China Agricultural Machinery Industry Association.

In 2015, Leo established the first lab in China capable of detecting toxic and harmful substances in the pump industry and formed a partnership with Tuv Nord, a renowned German certification agency.

In 2011, the Leo Technology Center was recognized as a national enterprise technology center, becoming the first such center in the pump industry.
