Two places - Xianju county and the county-level city of Linhai - in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province were recently included in a national program for rural road construction initiated by the Ministry of Transport.

A total of 16 county-level areas in Zhejiang were included in the program.

Earlier this year, two other administrative areas in Taizhou - Tiantai county and the county-level city of Wenling - were honored as national models in rural road construction, bringing the total number of recipients in the city to four.

Rural road construction has emerged as an important way for authorities to boost the tourism sector and facilitate rural revitalization.
