3 Taizhou villages win recognition for tourism development

Three villages in Taizhou were recently listed as candidates for the first batch of Gold 3A Scenic Villages in Zhejiang, according to a notice released by the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and Zhejiang Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
Tahou village
Situated at the foot of Chicheng Mountain in Tiantai county, Tahou village boasts rich tourism resources. It is surrounded by scenic spots including Guoqing Temple, Tiantai Mountain Cataract and Former Residence of Dao Ji, an eminent Zen monk who lived during the Southern Song Dynasty (420-479).
The village has in recent years emerged as a hit rural tourism destination thanks to its advantageous location and captivating views.
Shangzhantou village
Formerly a remote fishing village, Shangzhantou in Ganjiang town, Yuhuan city, has become a popular tourism site in recent years after several tourism facilities, including a glass suspension bridge, were introduced to the village.
Huaxi village
Located in Wugeng town, the county-level city of Wenling, Huaxi village is an ancient village with a history of more than 1,000 years. The village is known for its primitive customs, old buildings, as well as snacks such as nori and brown sugar.
