The 28th National Photographic Art Exhibition opened in Linhai, a county-level city of Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province on July 6, local media reported.
Established in 1957, the National Photographic Art Exhibition is the oldest, most influential and largest national photography exhibition held by the China Photographers Association.
This year's edition featured 298 works from categories such as documentary, art, creativity, business and multimedia. More than 100,000 submissions were received by the organizers.
Wu Xiaodong, mayor of Taizhou, said at the opening ceremony that the exhibition is not only a grand event in Taizhou's literary and art circles, but also an important platform to display the city and promote artistic exchanges.
The ceremony also witnessed Taizhou being honored as the "Hometown of Chinese Photography" by the China Photographers Association.
The exhibition coincided with a local photography art week, which comprises a string of exhibitions showing Taizhou's culture, history, scenery as well as economic development.
