Two places from Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province were recently included in a national pilot program for agricultural development.

The Tiantai Modern Agricultural Park was listed among the 50 candidates for development into national modern agricultural parks.

Located in the western part of Taizhou's Tiantai county, the park spans 117,000 mu (7,800 hectares) and is the nation's largest broccoli farming base.

Shitang town in the county-level city of Wenling was also shortlisted as a national model town in agriculture.

A provincial fishery hub with nearly 700 fishing boats, the town in 2021 harvested 83,300 metric tons of shrimp. The 40-plus shrimp processing companies based in Shitang generated an output value of over 1.3 billion yuan ($200 million) last year.

The two listed places in Taizhou will receive financial support from the central government.
