Today is International Museum Day, which has been celebrated by the international museum community every year since 1977.

The following are some museums worth visiting in Linhai, a county-level city in Taihzou, East China's Zhejiang province.

As a national second-level museum, Linhai Museum ranks high in Zhejiang in terms of the number of cultural relics. It has four permanent pavilions to showcase the city's history, folk customs, pterosaurs as well as calligraphy works by Lu Yuequn.

Stone tablets inscribed with characters in Donghu Park next to the museum are worth a visit.

Museums themed on abacuses, paper-cutting, chopsticks as well as clocks and watches can also be found in the city.

Established by a local businessman, the Jiayuan Clock & Watch Museum has a collection comprising 1,230 antique clocks and watches from China, England, France, Switzerland and other countries. The museum has been included in the eighth group of provincial bases for science popularization and education.

At the Hemu Tianxiang Chopsticks Museum, visitors will be enthralled by chopsticks of various styles that date back to the Tang Dynasty (618-907).

In addition, they can admire masterful paper-cutting skills with a history of over six centuries at the Zhang Xiujuan Paper-cutting Museum.

The museum that showcases the City Wall of the Ancient City of Taizhou, which was built more than 1,600 years ago, is also a must-visit venue.
