The Hangzhou-Shaoxing-Taizhou Expressway is now fully operational, with its last section, located in Shaoxing, opening to traffic on Feb 10.

The 162-kilometer expressway starts in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang province, and passes through Shaoxing, Jinhua and Taizhou. The road's Taizhou section, primarily in Tiantai county and the county-level city of Linhai, has been in use since late December 2020.

The following are some places worth visiting along the road, some of which are seldom known.

Jietou town

Located in the western part of Tiantai county, Jietou town has a history of over 1,500 years.

The town's Zhangjiatong village became famous after being featured in paintings by renowned Chinese painter Wu Guanzhong. It is also a preferred hiking place for visitors.

Fengyuan village and Hou'an village are also great places to admire idyllic scenery.

Shifengxi

Shifengxi is the largest stream in Tiantai county, which runs through 85 percent of its land. Driving or cycling along the river is a great way to enjoy some captivating countryside views.

Baishuiyang town

The town provides many options for recreation, from going sky diving on Anji Mountain to admiring azalea and cherry blossoms on Dalei Mountain, the second highest peak in southeastern Zhejiang.

Kuocang Mountain

This is an excellent place to go hiking in January. Visitors often marvel at the mountain's captivating rime scenery. The mountain is situated in the county-level city of Linhai and is 1,382.4 meters high, the highest in southeast Zhejiang.
