Fruit packaging tests positive for COVID-19 in Jiaojiang

An imported dragon fruit in Taizhou in East China's Zhejiang province tested positive for COVID-19 during routine nucleic acid testing on Dec 30, according to a notice released by local epidemic prevention and control authorities.

The virus was detected on the packaging of the fruit imported by a fruit wholesaler in the Taizhou Agricultural and Sideline Products Distribution Center located in the city's Jiaojiang district. 

Closed management has been imposed on the market and all the personnel have been required to undergo nucleic acid tests.

Over 5.7 million people in Taizhou had completed their COVID-19 vaccinations as of Nov 7. A total of 12.25 million vaccine jabs have been administered in the city to date, according to the Taizhou municipal healthcare commission.

There are currently 125 vaccination clinics located across the city.
