Tiantai people believe in the integration of Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism.
The Kalan Bodhisattva worshipped in Tiantai temples is the Three Kingdoms (220-280) hero Guan Yu, and the Tiantai Sect of Buddhism once worshipped Master Zhi Zhe. Wang Qiao, one of the Eight Immortals of Chinese myth, was called Patriarch Youbi by Taoists. Fan Zeng, enshrined in the Yafu Temple of Jiuzhe Mountain, is known as the "Immortal Emperor Buddha", which is the combination of the three religions.
In addition, Guan Yu was also a historical figure who respected Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism.
The statues worshipped in small temples also show the coexistence of the three belief systems.
Meanwhile, the activities of worshipping the ancestors, worshipping the graves and welcoming back the Kitchen God during the Spring Festival are actually related to the three religions.
The secluded lifestyle is prevalent in Tiantai Mountain. Many well-known domestic masters and business celebrities live in seclusion to peruse a fresh and natural life, while also being willing to contribute, care about social events, actively participate in charitable activities and make suggestions for rural revitalization.
In short, Tiantai harmonious culture is all-encompassing, and is reflected in harmonious living, harmonious diet and harmonious craft.
It is the wisdom of Tiantai people and the vivid expression of the popularity of harmonious culture, and also the epitome of the cultural spirit of the Chinese nation.
