Taizhou in East China's Zhejiang province is named after Tiantai Mountain, an area with a long history and one of the three sources of Hehe culture (harmonious culture).

Taizhou's folk culture has been marked with obvious Hehe features from good manners, hard spirits and harmonious lifestyles, to marriages, funerals and daily life.

Among the various customs of Tiantai residents, "harmony" is the most obvious element. There are a lot of proverbs in local folk songs, such as "he who suffers losses lives long", that persuade people to be good.

The embodiment of this harmony in local customs can be summarized into three major aspects.
