A total of 51 people, including 37 teachers, from Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province arrived in Aral, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region on Sept 6.

The proportion of teachers with management experience was increased when compared with previous batches of teachers sent from Taizhou to Aral for educational support.

Xu Yufeng, an English teacher from Sanmen No 2 Senior High School, was one of the three teachers who have come to Xiniiang to provide educational support for the second time.

Xu applied to be a volunteer teacher again in June when she returned from Aral to Taizhou.

"I am so excited to set foot on this land again! When I went back a few months ago, my students left me messages that brought me into tears," she said. "When they knew I would return, they asked me every day when I would be back, and now I can't wait to see them."

Taizhou is paired with Aral under the east-west cooperation program for poverty relief launched by the central government, which sees more prosperous provinces and municipalities in East China lend support to underdeveloped regions in the country.

It has played an active role in boosting Ural's economic growth over the past 10 years.

In March, Taizhou kicked off a campaign to encourage local residents to visit Aral. A total of 8 million yuan ($1.23 million) was allocated by the city to support the campaign.
