Construction on China (Duqiao) Eyeglasses City, the largest eyeglasses complex in East China's Zhejiang province, is expected to be completed by the end of November.

With an investment of 1.2 billion yuan ($184.6 million), the complex, located in Duqiao town, Linhai, a county-level city in Taizhou, has a total floorage of 176,000 square meters.

Currently, it has entered the interior decoration stage. After completion, all tenants from the Zhejiang Glasses Complex will be relocated to China (Duqiao) Eyeglasses City.

In 1993, the Zhejiang Glasses Complex opened in Duqiao. It was Taizhou's first professional glasses wholesale market, housing 218 stores and 288 stalls.

Over the past 20 years, glasses from the market have been exported to more than 50 countries and regions worldwide including the United States, Russia and the Philippines.

Duqiao, a renowned eyeglasses manufacturing hub in China, is home to more than 3,200 enterprises engaged in the optical lens sector, official statistics show.
