Taizhou's Xianju county inaugurates a life sciences innovation center in Shanghai on June 17, according to local media reports.

The facility, which is the first of its kind set up by Xianju, will serve as a platform to channel investment and innovation capital to the county.

It began construction in January last year after Xianju reached a cooperation agreement with Shanghai Lanzhou Technology Development Co Ltd.

Covering an area of 3,800 square meters, the facility now houses eight companies, among which three have established a business presence in Xianju.

Among them is Zhejiang Qianyu Intelligent Technology Co Ltd, which specializes in the R&D and production of robots in the big health sector.

According to its CEO Sun Yuhao, the company's moxibustion robots have entered the market after being put into production in Xianju.

About 64 people from the center will apply to be included in Taizhou's "Elite 500 Plan",  a recruitment initiative launched by the city to attract high-profile talents, which will enable them to enjoy preferential policies like subsidies and low-interest loans.

In recent years, construction of such high-level innovation platforms has become a significant approach for Xianju to attract high-tech talents in strategic emerging industries, such as high-end medical devices and biomedicine, from Shanghai to the county.
