Despite rarely being included in traveler's list of destinations, Yuhuan, a county-level city in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, is a hidden gem that visitors shouldn't miss.

Surrounded by sea on three sides and facing Yandang Mountain across the sea, the city has a history of more than 3,000 years.

Lingmen village, which is home to a national second-class fishing port, is a must-visit place in the city to savor seafood.

In addition, visitors can also enjoy unspoiled sea scenery on islets affiliated to Yuhuan, such as Jishan Island, Dalu Island, and Yangyu Island.

Jishan Island gets its name because it looks like a cockscomb from afar. Rows of fishermen's houses built by the sea, with unified colors, resembles the Potala Palace, a cardinal landmark in the Tibetan autonomous region, on the sea.

Dalu Island, a remote island in the East China Sea, is densely forested, making it a natural leisure tourism destination. It is also known for its bizarre rocks, which are formed due to the erosive effect of ocean waves.

Spanning 0.57 square kilometers, Yangyu Island only has a permanent population of 20. It is someplace visitors might spot surprising scenes.
