Optoelectronic industry in Taizhou gains traction

The optoelectronic industry has been emerging as a new pillar industry in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province.

The city is now home to more than 30 above-designated-size enterprises in the optoelectronic sector, whose total output value amounted to 10 billion yuan ($1.54 billion) in 2020.

The city aims to lift the output value of the sector above 100 billion yuan by 2030. 

Based in Taizhou, Zhejiang Crystal-Optech Co Ltd is an enterprise specializing in the research, development, and manufacturing of optical imaging, light emitting diodes (LEDs), micro displays, and reflective materials.

Recently, the AR-HUD product developed by the company has passed the certification process and is getting ready for mass production. The product offers driving assistance, with guidance information able to be displayed on the windshield in real time.

Located in Taizhou Bay New Area, the plant funded by INT Optronics Co Ltd has entered the construction stage. It is designed to produce AR/VR glasses in the future.
