Shilang Waterfall in Tiantai Mountain scenic area in Tiantai county, Taizhou was frozen after a cold air recently swept through the city.

Images of the rarely seen "icefall" quickly went viral online.

Shiliang Waterfall is a rare masterpiece of nature. A narrow stone bridge spans two steep cliffs, and the waterfall plummets about 30 meters into a deep pool with a thundering roar, a magnificent view that has served as the setting for many classic Chinese kung fu TV dramas, including Shaolin Temple and The Legend of the Condor Heroes.

Nestled next to the waterfall is Fangguang Temple, which houses statues of 500 Arhats of Buddhism.

In addition, there is another water fall named "Small Copper Pot Waterfall" in the scenic spot. The waterfall is so named as it is shaped like a small copper pot.

A giant stone seal weighing up to 100 tons, which ingeniously combines nature and manmade ingenuity, is also worth visiting.

The seal is carved with the four Chinese characters of Fa Hua Chen Guang (法华晨光). "Fa Hua" refers to the Lotus Sutra, a classic of the Buddhist Tiantai sect, while "Chen Guang", or morning lights, refers to Tiantai Mountain being the cradle of the Tiantai sect of Chinese Buddhism.
