Taizhou enterprises secured a total of 3.27 million yuan ($473,913) in sales at the Zhejiang Agriculture Expo, which came to an end in Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang, on Nov 24.

About 1.66 million yuan in sales were reached online, ranking first in Zhejiang, and orders worth more than 3 million yuan were received onsite during the five-day event.

In addition, a local public agriculture brand known as Taijiuxian debuted at the expo.

"Taijiu" is pronounced the same as "Taizhou" in the local dialect, while "Xian" means "fresh" in Chinese, indicating the company's high quality products. "Jiu", meaning "nine" in Chinese, refers to the large variety of products offered by the company.

The brand's agricultural products, including tangerines, pomelo, tea, grain, and oil, proved popular among expo-goers.

In addition, blue crabs from Taizhou's Sanmen county sold well at the expo due to increased customer awareness, according to Han Chengzhu, an employee at the Sanmen Association of Blue Crabs.

More than 110 enterprises in the city also signed up for the event's online version. Official data show that tangerines and pomelos from Taizhou ranked among the 100 best-selling agricultural products at the expo.
