The Taizhou Product Quality and Safety Testing Institute recently acquired the Underwriters Laboratories Witness Test Data Program (UL WTDP) lab certification.
The move is set to bring UL certification services, which are required for exports to North America, to the doorstep of local intelligent toilet enterprises.
It will greatly reduce the time required to approve intelligent toilets manufactured in Taizhou for export and enhance their competiveness and brand value-added in overseas markets.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, household health products including smart toilets have seen a sharp rise in sales overseas, creating a major opportunity for Taizhou manufacturers, experts said.
The Taizhou Product Quality and Safety Testing Institute was established in 2001 and is currently the only national intelligent toilet laboratory in China.
As the global leader in safety science, UL has world-class technology and resource advantages in the field of testing and certification.
Zhang Yong, deputy head of the Taizhou Product Quality and Safety Testing Institute , said they will maintain close cooperation with UL and continuously improve inspection and testing capabilities so as to bolster the internationalization of local smart toilets.
