Five residential communities in Taizhou were included as part of a pilot "future community" program in Zhejiang province, according to a report from Zhejiang News on Sept 22.

The five communities are Dongpu in Huangyan district, Fengqi in Luqiao district, Liujiaojing in Linhai city, Dongfeng in Yuhuan county, and Tanshu in Xianju county.

A future community is an urban development project that aims to make cities more people-oriented, environmentally friendly, and digital. The term was included in the provincial government report in 2019.

Zhejiang aims to build around 100 pilot communities by 2021 and introduce them throughout the province by 2022.
