The output value of rural industries in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, is expected to reach more than 100 billion yuan ($14.27 billion) by 2022, according to an action plan released by Taizhou authorities on July 23.

The plan states that by 2022, rural industries in the city will have developed substantially and have a more complete industrial system.

Liang Jian, director of the rural industrial development department of the Taizhou Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, said that the annual increase in financial support for agriculture by the local government and in agriculture related loans will be no less than 10 percent.

Taizhou will establish 300 "Fresh Taizhou Produce" (a public agricultural product brand in Taizhou) demonstration bases, obtain green organic food certification for 250 local products and agricultural geographical indications for 13 agricultural products within the next two years.

The overall level of mechanization in ploughing, sowing, and harvesting rice is expected to reach 83 percent, and 100 internet of things demonstration bases will be established in rural Taizhou.

The ratio of rural residents' operating income to per capita disposable income is expected to be raised to 25 percent by 2022.

Statistics from the local bureau of agriculture and rural affairs show that the value-added agricultural output of Taizhou totaled 10.86 billion yuan in the first half of this year, a year-on-year increase of 2.6 percent and ranking first in Zhejiang. Agricultural industries received 1.02 billion yuan in investment during this period.
