The Huangyan Museum in Huangyan, a county-level city in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, is expected to be approved as a 4A-level scenic spot (the second highest classification for tourist attractions in China), according to the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
Founded in 1984, the Huangyan Museum houses more than 8,000 collections, including 89 top national treasures, on its four floors.
The museum features Buddhist relics and silk garment from the Song Dynasty (960-1279), celadon porcelain from the Tang (618-907) and Song dynasties, and primitive blue porcelain from the Western Zhou Dynasty (c.11th century-771 BC).
Taizhou is currently home to two 5A-level scenic spots and 15 4A-level scenic spots.
