The review meeting on the preliminary feasibility study of the Jinhua-Taizhou railway was held in Taizhou, East China's Zhejiang province, on June 28, local media reported.

The railway will start in Jinyi New Urban District in Jinhua, pass by Hengdian town in Jinhua, Pan'an county in Jinhua, and Tiantai county in Taizhou, and terminate in downtown Taizhou.

The entire line will span 158.24 kilometers and has a designed speed of 350 km per hour and annual carrying capacity of 2.5 million passengers.

In recent years, Taizhou has been improving its transportation networks by establishing three north-south railways.

The soon-to-be-established Jinhua-Taizhou railway will fill in the shortcomings of the west-east railway in mid-east Zhejiang province and is also part of the Taizhou-Jinhua-Quzhou inter-city railway, which is currently undergoing planning.

It will shorten the travel time between Taizhou and Jinhua and boost high-quality development in both cities.
