With the arrival of spring, Taizhou now not only offers magnificent seaside views, but also vast stretches of blooming flowers.

Xuanmenwan National Wetland Park

The Xuanmenwan National Wetland Park, located in Yuhuan, a county-level city in Taizhou, covers a total area of 31.48 square meters.

The wetland park boasts 475 species of wild and cultivated plants and 154 species of birds, according to records.

The coastal area of the wetland park is one of the largest habitats for wild black-billed gulls in China as well as a wintering area for the black-faced spoonbill, an endangered species of bird.

Due to its well-preserved ecosystem and beautiful natural scenery, the park has been awarded the title of "best ecological protection wetland in China" and listed among the top 10 most beautiful wetlands in Zhejiang province.

In spring, a huge variety of flowers, including rapes, tulips, chrysanthemums, and cherries, bloom in the park, attracting many visitors.

There is also a miniature wetland ecosystem at the park's science museum, which houses specimens of a variety of wetland birds.

Beaches in Wenling

Spring is perhaps the best time to admire the seaside views, and Wenling county in Taizhou boasts some of the area's best beaches.

Dongxia Beach, located in Haiyun village, Songmen town, is more than 600 meters long and 70 meters wide. It is the only bathing beach in Zhejiang province.

After relaxing on the beach, visitors can rest in a tea house or in homestays renovated from nearby stone houses.

Golden Sand Beach, located in Jinsha village, Shitang town, gets its name from its unique golden sand.

Spring is the best time to visit the beach, and it is particular suited to family tours.

There are also a few small islands in Wenling that are gaining in popularity.

Sansuan Island, for example, located southeast of Shitang town, is known for its misty early-morning seascape, cobblestone beach, and vast expanses of thick grass.
