Taizhou announced on March 28 that a total of 75 A-level scenic attractions in the city will offer free admission to visitors until the end of April.

The policy is already beginning to show signs of effectiveness.

Official data from the Taizhou municipal bureau of culture, radio, television, tourism and sports show that the city’s A-level scenic spots received more than 200,000 visitors from March 28 to 29.

In particular, Shenxianju, a national 5A scenic spot (China's top classification for tourist destinations), received 5,856 tourists on March 29 alone.

Revenue generated from cableways, sightseeing vehicles, and other recreational facilities in the scenic area exceeded 380,000 yuan that day, up 19.83 percent year-on-year.

Shenxianju, known for its intact ecosystem and unique geology, reopened to the public on Feb 22.

The scenic area announced on March 23 that it would offer free admission to visitors from around the country.

As of March 29, it had received a total of 15,569 visitors. More than 75 percent were from neighboring cities in the province such as Wenzhou and Jinhua, while the rest were from Shanghai, Anhui, and Henan provinces.
