A total of 75 A-level scenic attractions including Shenxianju, a national 5A scenic spot–China's top classification for tourist destinations–in Taizhou will open to visitors free of charge until the end of April, announced local authorities.

The announcement was made at a press conference held in Shanghai on March 28, in which Taizhou partnered with Joyu (Shanghai) Group Co Ltd.

The local government also unveiled a string of measures to revitalize cultural and tourism industries hit hard by the outbreak.

The city will temporarily refund 80 percent of tourism service quality deposits to local travel agencies, allocate 50 million yuan ($7.24 million) to prop up the cultural and tourism market, and offer free entrance tickets worth 150 million yuan throughout the year.

The city will also cooperate with online travel agency Lvmama.com to entice tourists with discounted tourism packages and vouchers.

Meanwhile, a Taizhou tour card will also be issued in May, which would make it more convenient for people to tour the city.

Taizhou was the first city in China to announce that it would open all A-level scenic attractions to medical workers for free, and plans to provide customized cultural and tourism opportunities targeting medics across the country.

More promotional activities will be launched, attracting tourists from around the Yangtze River Delta region and Taiwan.

In addition, the city will ramp up the development of new tourism products and boost rural vitalization by developing homestays.

The city aims to improve its global profile by hosting a series of cultural and tourism events such as the Hehe Culture International Forum.
